Spring is Near!?
2A was surprised by snow on April Fools Day. We are learning about Mass as we prepare for our First Communion in May. We've had fun reviewing learning in our class quiz game "Who Wants To Be Holy?" Students enjoyed stories of talented children like The School Mural and Moses Goes to a Concert in Theme 6: Talent Show. After studying measurement, our math focus is now geometric solids and plane shapes. New math vocabulary includes: symmetry, congruent, quadrilateral, parallelogram. 2A is imagining what life was like for pioneers as we read Don't Know Much About Pioneers. This week we are making covered wagons, complete with supplies. The import detectives of 2A discovered many items imported from China in their homes. Many items from Canada and Mexico were also discovered in our households. The young botanist of 2A are delighted to notice every centimeter of growth on their brassica plants. This week they pollinated their flowers.
Brushing Up On Tooth Care
It was also a treat to have a dentist visit the classroom to teach us about how to brush. We love the new brushes, flossers and tooth timers.
Meet Lucy!
2A students are happy we added Lucy to our class list in 2009. She is a Russian Tortoise that helps us to remember that slow and steady is the path to quality work.
