Get Caught Reading!
We love book groups! 2A members are passionate about reading and sharing their opinions about books. The funny characters of Frog and Toad series help students get familiar with talking about literature at the beginning of the year. The entertaining Amelia Bedelia helps students practice the art of inference. The many fabulous stories from out Houghton Mifflin Reading Series along with plenty of famous children's authors keep us hooked on books all year!
2A is Going Fishing!
Our school theme this year is "Let's Go Fishing". This year 2A students will get hooked on good literature dive into great story telling. Second graders will string together many addends to practice math computation along with plenty of problem solving experiences. This fall we will observe weather and explore properties of air. Our first field trip will introduce 2nd grade students to the many uses for the Port of Seattle. We are excited to haul in a load of learning this year.
Meet Lucy!
2A students are happy we added Lucy to our class list in 2009. She is a Russian Tortoise that helps us to remember that slow and steady is the path to quality work.
What Won't They Measure?
2A students will love putting their new school supplies to work at they measure couches, carpets, tables, desks, whiteboards, the Smartboard, and even the hallway!
Spanish Fun
2A students enjoy playing games to reinforce Spanish vocabulary.
